As demand for food supplies increases and SPAR retailers have been setting up home deliveries for housebound shoppers during the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for additional support in SPAR stores and in operations is huge. SPAR Hungary provides new opportunities for employees from other sectors

SPAR Hungary has taken on almost 900 employees from sectors hit by the economic consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak, including the severely affected hospitality and tourism sectors. SPAR attaches great importance to working together with other industries to preserve jobs. On a regular basis, SPAR publishes job advertisements on the corporate career page, offering job opportunities in SPAR stores nationwide as well as in the logistics centre, the Regnum meat factory, at training facilities and the central office in Bicske.

SPAR Switzerland joins cross-industry exchange programme for employees

While many retail stores in Switzerland had to close their stores or cut jobs abruptly, food retailers are overwhelmed by the demand and face staff shortages. To address the unforeseen requirement for more retail staff, SPAR Switzerland has joined a national employee exchange programme where retailers can hire employees from other industries, supporting sectors hit by the current COVID-19 pandemic.

SPAR UK recruiting additional staff as instore demand increases

With demand for food supplies increasing, SPAR UK is recruiting for various temporary roles across stores and distribution centres nationwide. To help manage delivery, SPAR Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang and Son Ltd has added foodservice operator Brakes Scotland drivers to its logistics team. To continue delivering essential services to customers during this difficult time, SPAR UK’s five regional partners are looking for new team members to fill positions in stores and warehouses across the nation. SPAR UK has a range of positions available including retail assistants, warehouse operatives, and drivers.

SPAR Hungary launches home delivery by taxi

SPAR Hungary has partnered with the largest taxi company in Hungary, Főtaxi Group, to launch a new home delivery service called Taxi shopping. The new service offers a solution for people who prefer to stay home during the pandemic and provides the passenger transport service with innovative business opportunities to preserve workplaces and social usefulness.
