At the Annual Swiss Handball Awards Night in Baden, SPAR Switzerland presented a cheque to the Swiss Handball Association and the SPAR Premium League for the support of young handball players.

The donation was made possible by bonus payments generated through the SPAR Bonus Card – 10,000 of which were given to the handball community in Switzerland. Through purchases made using the SPAR Bonus Card and the handball app, an amount of 19,000 Swiss Francs (approximately €17,600) was collected – a fantastic new record since the sponsorship programme was launched.

Detlef Albert, Regional Sales Manager at SPAR Switzerland, handed the cheque to Sabrina Marty, President of the SPAR Premium League: “We thank SPAR very much for their valuable co-operation and great support. The young players and the entire Swiss Handball community have benefited enormously,” said Marty. The fact that the bonus payments are increasing year after year shows that the awareness of the sponsorship is growing and is well accepted within the community. “Our goal is to increase the amount even further,” said Jürgen Krucker, CEO of the Swiss Handball Association.

Handball fans can continue to support young players: Simply show the SPAR Bonus Card or the SPAR Handball app when shopping at SPAR. The Bonus Card is available at the Swiss Handball Association and in all SPAR Premium League clubs. The SPAR Handball app can be found easily in the App Store.
