SPAR Gran Canaria’s Escaleritas II store reopened as energy-efficient convenience store

SPAR Gran Canaria’s Escaleritas II store has recently reopened its doors in the island’s capital, Las Palmas. A thorough renovation has turned SPAR Escaleritas into a modern, energy-efficient convenience store with the addition of a fresh bakery section.

This SPAR store relaunch showcases brighter spaces that provide a more premium shopping experience. In its 300m² sales area, SPAR Escaleritas II has dedicated areas for the sale of fresh and local products from the Canary Islands in its Fruit and Vegetable, Butchery, and Delicatessen sections.

Following the renovation, the store has maintained its staff of 15 dedicated colleagues. It has added new services and sales areas, among which the Bakery section that stands out for the daily preparation of a wide assortment of breads and pastries. It has also incorporated a freshly squeezed orange juice service. Opening hours are from Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

SPAR Gran Canaria maintains its commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint. Energy efficiency has been prioritised through the installation of a low-consumption LED lighting system, coolers, and next-generation vertical closed refrigerators to optimise energy savings.

SPAR Gran Canaria delivers to 190 stores spread over the 21 municipalities on the island, meeting the needs of local communities. SPAR stores across the island continue to reinforce measures to safeguard the wellbeing of customers and employees instore.
