3 ingredients account for the success of this run: sports, women and solidarity. The increase in the number of runners reflects not only the enthusiasm for road races but also the support for the chosen charities.
900 participants started from El Confital Bay, all wearing the event’s pink t-shirt and thereby creating a visual wave. 300 shirts bearing the campaign image were sold to non-runners at €5.00 to raise more for the Cancer foundation.
For those learning to run, two sport coaches (including Patricia Diaz and Fernando Orrite) ran training sessions throughout June. Participants could either run or hike. Runners could choose either to run a 4km El Confital route or an extended 8km route. The 12km hiking trail includes crossing the exploration grounds in a military area and is more adventurous.
