Together for the children of Ukraine: SPAR Norway parent company NorgesGruppen donates €250,000 to UNICEF

SPAR Norway parent company NorgesGruppen is donating €250,000 to UNICEF Norway to support the emergency aid they provide to the children of Ukraine.

“Our thoughts go out to the people of Ukraine. Children are especially vulnerable. We hope that many of our customers would like to join us in supporting the lifesaving work that UNICEF does for the children who are suffering in this conflict”, says SPAR Norway CEO Ole Christian Fjeldheim.

SPAR customers in Norway can easily donate money by using SPAR Norway’s loyalty programme, Trumf. SPAR Norway started this donation drive on Tuesday evening. And according to the SPAR country partner, customers have so far on average donated a very generous sum of €30. For customers who are not Trumf members, there are also possibilities to donate by Vipps or SMS.

“Together with our partners, UNICEF is working around the clock to meet the rapidly escalating humanitarian needs. We provide emergency medical services, critical medicines, health supplies and equipment, safe water for drinking and hygiene, and shelter and protection for those displaced from their homes. Children and families caught up in this conflict need all the help they can get – and they need it now. Our supporters make this possible”, says Camilla Viken, Executive Director of UNICEF Norway.
