INTERSPAR Hypermarket Schottentor in Vienna wins EuroShop Retail Design Award 2023
Download imageThis triennial event is held in conjunction with EuroShop, the World’s No.1 Retail Trade Fair for store design, shop fitting, and retail operations, which is being held in Düsseldorf from 26 February to 2 March 2023.
Bringing together a broad group of attendees, comprising retail design teams, retail IT developers, retail fixtures and fittings suppliers, as well as fresh food specialists, this key event in our calendar is always keenly supported. The SPAR Store Development Seminar programme is rich in content, combining visits to EuroShop with the opportunity to participate in the seminar sessions which incorporate presentations from SPAR organisations, preferred suppliers, and SPAR International.
The Seminar sessions focus on store design trends, international best practice, energy-saving initiatives, knowledge sharing, and guest speaker insights. The Seminar agenda includes presentations about flagship store design projects from SPAR Partners in ASPIAG, Ireland, Norway, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, as well as insights from the SPAR International Store Development Programme. This year’s event includes a session dedicated to serving connected customers, namely online to offline shoppers. Preferred suppliers Rational, Tefcold, and HL Display, will also present to Seminar participants on the latest developments in equipment optimisation, retrofitting, and cost-conscious solutions respectively.
SPAR International is delighted to announce that the INTERSPAR Hypermarket Schottentor in Vienna has won the EuroShop Retail Design Award 2023 in the food category. The coveted award was received as part of the overall award ceremony held on 26 February. A jury of experts selected the best international store concepts in a total of five different categories: Food, Fashion & Lifestyle, Hospitality, Digital, and Sustainability. Over 100 applicants from 31 countries took part in this year’s competition.
INTERSPAR Schottentor is located in the former headquarters of the Viennese Association of Banks. The flagship store features a sales area of 1,770m², a comprehensive assortment, and the first à la carte INTERSPAR restaurant.
We congratulate SPAR Austria on winning this prestigious award in 2023. The food category award was also won by SPAR when the event was last held in person in 2020, with SPAR Gran Canaria being recognised for their incredible store.
