SPAR South Africa extends local sponsorship initiatives

October 9, 2019 IN THE CATEGORY: Community, Responsible retailing

SPAR South Africa has announced that it will sponsor the d6 School Communicator and d6 Connect applications, which simplify communication between schools, parents and communities. The sponsorship forms part of SPAR South Africa’s ongoing commitment to support local communities and education systems.

As a brand that operates within local communities throughout the country, catering to the needs of people from all walks of life, SPAR South Africa understands the importance of backing initiatives that improve and add value to the lives of its customers.

More importantly, the SPAR Partner believes in using effective communication tools and platforms to unite and steer society forward towards a positive future.

The d6 School Communicator and d6 Connect applications contain all the information engaged parents need to play an active role in their children’s lives in terms of both academics and sport.

This aligns with SPAR South Africa’s commitment to take an active role in the future of sport in the country, by sponsoring both national and local school sporting events.

About SPAR South Africa

SPAR South Africa was established in 1963 and operates four retail formats: SPAR, SPAR Express (operated in conjunction with Shell as a petrol forecourt store), KWIKSPAR (which focuses on convenience in city centres and high footfall locations) and SUPERSPAR (similar to EUROSPAR in offer).

South Africa was the first country outside of Europe to join the SPAR organisation. The SPAR Group Ltd South Africa grants sub-licences to independent retailers to operate stores under one of the four formats, with almost all of the current store portfolio being independently owned.
