SPAR Oman unveils new supermarket in capital city

On 1 December, SPAR Oman extended its network by opening a store in the Ghala business district of the capital city of Muscat. The opening of this fresh-focused supermarket follows the successful launch of two stores in Muscat this summer.

This SPAR Supermarket has a total retail sales area of 710m2 and was designed in collaboration with SPAR International. The store caters to a wide customer base, including single households, families, office workers and tourists.

The store features a modern signage system to highlight the different departments. This includes Fruit & Veg, Farm Fresh, Mother & Baby, Personal Care, Frozen Delights, Veggie Delights, Spices, and Rice & Flour. Other highlights are the prominently signed value aisles and the Save Big value area at the store entrance.

Great instore offer
Customer response to the opening of the new SPAR store in Muscat has been very positive. The store’s premium fresh food offer covers an extensive choice of fresh an innovative SPAR instore bakery concept. The wide aisles and quick check-outs add to the instore shopping experience.

As a special promotion on the opening day, customers spending €20 and over received 2 litres of free milk. Directors of Khimji Ramdas, the licence holder for SPAR in Oman, were present at the opening event to celebrate this milestone.

Since the opening, over 800 transactions are made on average per day, with shoppers benefitting from the extended opening hours of 7 am to 11 pm.
