SPAR Norway opens new supermarket on the outskirts of Oslo

SPAR Norway has opened a new SPAR Supermarket in the Bærum suburb, just outside Oslo. Launched on 9 September, SPAR Nadderud is located in a residential area, close to sporting facilities, including a football club. The new store brings a wide fresh, high-quality assortment tailored to local preferences. 

Run by a team of ten SPAR colleagues, SPAR Nadderud features a sales area of 350m2. The destination departments include fresh fish, bakery, delicatessen, non-food, meat, and food to go. The popular hot food deli counter offers shoppers a tasty variety of warm prepared dishes.

SPAR Norway has fitted the store with brand new coolers and freezers running on an energy-efficient CO2 system supplied by Kelvin. The new technology mainly impacts the store’s technical room, ensuring customers will not notice any difference instore. The store also uses SPAR Norway’s Throw no More application to ensure food waste is kept to a minimum. 

The opening day on 9 September attracted 550 local customers, who enjoyed several promotions and a great selection of fresh products at the delicatessen department.
