SPAR Netherlands CEO John van der Ent expressed that SPAR goes the extra mile to be a good employer: “We offer our employees plenty of opportunities to work on their personal and professional development and to grow within the organisation. We don’t just offer a job, we offer a future.”
Marie-José Rutten, Director of HR & Organisational Development at SPAR Netherlands, said: “For us, it is not so much about the certificate, but about the yardstick. To be and remain a good employer, you have to improve continuously. By going through the process annually, we know better where we stand as an employer. At SPAR, we contribute to our employees’ satisfaction. As the bar is set higher every year, we are proud that we also carry the title in 2023.”
The Top Employers Institute offers an internationally recognised programme that helps organisations assess, compare and improve the working environment against 400 HR criteria. Only companies that achieve the required score of ‘excellent’ during the audit on the various components are ultimately certified and appointed. This takes place in six areas: talent management, strategy, work environment, diversity & inclusion, and well-being. The achievement motivates SPAR Netherlands to take further steps in 2023 to achieve the certification in 2024 again.
