DeSPAR North-East ran a Stickermania competition in 2015, which saw participating schools compete to develop a theme for a new collection of DESPAR stickers. The DeSPAR sticker collection is a popular instore customer loyalty campaign that has been running for a few years.

There was tough competition with a total of 84 submitted projects from 60 schools. After a lot of deliberation, the jury of experts finally selected the Joannis primary school in Friuli-Venezia Giulia as the winner.

The theme chosen by the school for the new DeSPAR sticker collection was Art History. The idea was to give an overview of the history of art in a meaningful and chronological way, depicting scenes from the Stone Age, the Romantic period and the Renaissance, right through to Contemporary and Abstract art. The aim was for the collection to be used as an educational tool for young children.

The winning prize of €8,000 was handed over to the school in February by the Marketing Manager for DeSPAR in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The award offered a great sense of pride to the school’s parents, teachers and children. The money will be used to support a kindergarten in a developing country and to reduce the fees of the Joannis primary school, which serves approximately fifteen children.
