SPAR Spain partner in Gran Canaria collaborated with the Down Syndrome Association, raising more than €10,000 through the sale of its solidarity calendars.

For the third year in a row, SPAR Gran Canaria partnered with the Las Palmas Down Syndrome Association through the sale of solidarity calendars in SPAR stores. In total, 2,058 solidarity calendars were sold, generating €10,290 in total. The proceedings will fund the development of activities and projects dedicated to supporting over 120 families in Las Palmas who are assisted by the Association.

The representatives of SPAR Gran Canaria, including its president Ángel Medina, vice president José López, and general director Dunia Pérez, handed over the funds raised to the vice president and general director of the Association, Francisco Díaz-Casanova and Ángel Sosa. The ceremony took place at SPAR Las Majoreras, the supermarket that sold the most calendars during this campaign.

This initiative firmly aligns with SPAR Gran Canarias CSR policy. Indeed, SPAR will renew the commitment to the projects and initiatives of the Las Palmas Down Syndrome Association for a sixth consecutive year.

About SPAR Spain

SPAR Spain was founded in 1959 when a group of wholesalers who wished to join an international organisation came together. As a result, the brand became the first voluntary trading chain to be established in Spain, having been granted a license by SPAR International. Together, 13 regional SPAR wholesalers actively continue the expansion of the brand across the country.
