SPAR Georgia supports families in need during Easter holiday

During the Easter holiday in April, SPAR Georgia partnered with local non-profit foundations to deliver food donations to families in need. Fighting hunger is one of SPAR Georgia’s responsible retailing goals, which informed the company’s choice of non-profit partnerships.

SPAR Georgia joined a large-scale project launched by the Mothers’ Fund Foundation to provide Easter gifts to vulnerable people in all districts of Tbilisi. The company donated 2,000 Easter eggs and 400 Easter cakes to the beneficiaries of the fund. Mothers’ Fund helps families in need in Tbilisi through various food donations and support schemes.

In partnership with the Step-by-Step Foundation, SPAR Georgia also sent staple goods to 50 socially vulnerable families with disabilities. Additionally, SPAR Georgia donated Easter treats, including cakes and eggs, to 25 beneficiaries of the New Life Foundation and 25 beneficiaries of local women’s shelters.

About SPAR Georgia

The SPAR partner in Georgia is Foodmart, an existing food retailer with a solid and successful business. SPAR International granted the licence to operate the brand to SPAR Georgia in early 2014. SPAR launched in the country later that year, with three supermarkets opening on the same day in Tbilisi.

SPAR Georgia has focused on offering a good selection of fresh produce and traditional Georgian baked goods, complemented by a localised food-to-go proposal. The stores also include SPAR Own Brand ranges, baby food ranges, increased grocery lines, and non-food departments.
