October 18, 2021 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

SPAR China regional operator Jiajiayue has launched another SPAR Hypermarket in Jinan, Shandong province. Opened on 10 September on the first floor of Yijia Plaza, SPAR Jinan East City Yijia Store has a sales area of more than 10,000m2.

The hypermarket has a great layout and modern shopfittings, creating a high-end and comfortable store environment. With a wide assortment of instore services, globally sourced delicacies and fresh local products, the new hypermarket provides shoppers with a premium shopping experience.

Fresh produce

Fresh produce has always been a strength of SPAR Shandong partner Jiajiayue. Through its farm-to-fork approach to agricultural sourcing, the SPAR regional operator collaborates with high-quality agricultural bases. Thanks to its sophisticated supply chain, logistics and retail terminals, SPAR is able to deliver the best fresh produce directly picked from the field to consumers’ tables.

Premium seafood

As a coastal province, Shandong has access to fantastic seafood. The fish and seafood available at the new SPAR Hypermarket are freshly caught and delivered directly through the operator’s cold chain, ensuring good quality and delicious taste.

Instore services

Fresh meals are prepared onsite by a chef who cooks each dish according to the customer’s preference. Also available is freshly made sushi, as well as fresh bakery products, hot beverages, and other delicacies. The store also has an impressive wine department, where a professional sommelier can provide advice on the many wines available.

About SPAR China

SPAR was introduced to China in 2004 with the signing of the licence agreement for Shandong province. This was followed by the addition of more partners. SPAR currently has partners in eight provinces: Shandong, Guangdong, Beijing, Sichuan, Henan, Hebei, Yunnan, and Guizhou.

The privately-owned retail chains licensed to operate SPAR have a cooperative relationship. This partnership is in line with the original SPAR mission of working together to reduce costs, maximise sales, and increase profits. The SPAR China Partners, whilst part of a leading international group, maintain 100% local ownership.
