The packaging also features simple, practical tips and tricks for using and caring for the herbs. The new packaging of the SPAR Natur*pur Tyrolean organic potted herbs will save around 14 tonnes of plastic every year.
The organic potted herbs come in eight different varieties: flat parsley, curly parsley, chives, mint, basil, rosemary, lemon balm, and thyme. The herbs are suitable for use in a wide range of recipes, from salads to desserts. The potted herbs can be placed in the kitchen or on the windowsill. They can also be planted in the garden or on the balcony, without much effort.
The SPAR Natur*pur organic herbs come from the Tyrolean horticultural company Strillinger. The family business has been producing kitchen herbs to the highest quality standards for over 30 years right at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser in the Tyrolean Unterland. “As a family business, we are very pleased about our partnership with SPAR, meaning we can supply all SPAR stores throughout Austria with our Tyrolean organic herbs in a recyclable packaging,” says Michael Strillinger from Gartenbau Strillinger.

About SPAR Austria
The origins of SPAR in Austria date back to 1954, but the current SPAR AG was created in 1970 when the original founding families joined other regional wholesalers to form SPAR Austria AG – a 100% privately owned Austrian company.
With licences granted by SPAR International, ASPIAG (Austria SPAR International AG) has developed the brand in Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, and Northern Italy. With sales of €8.3 billion and impressive growth of 16%, SPAR Austria became the market leader in the Austrian grocery trade in 2020, after being a market growth leader for over a decade.
