Dr Gerhard Fritsch has worked with the SPAR Austria Group for 35 years. For the past 17 years, he has been head of corporate marketing for the Group. During this period, the company has become one of the largest players in Austria’s advertising industry. Gerhard Fritsch is responsible for the areas of international product management, digital marketing services, and market research. He has significantly shaped the marketing strategy of the three retail formats: SPAR, EUROSPAR, and INTERSPAR.
To support SPAR Own Brands, his advertising relies on the cult and star principle: Hollywood stars such as Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum, and Gwyneth Paltrow have already been in front of the SPAR camera. Currently, Pierce Brosnan for SPAR PREMIUM and Mirjam Weichselbraun for SPAR Natur*pur are advertising icons in SPAR advertising.
“For years, Dr Fritsch has been advancing SPAR marketing with innovative advertising and marketing activities. Extraordinary ideas and enriching collaborations make SPAR a trendsetter. We are very proud of this honour for our marketing pioneer”, says SPAR Board member Markus Kaser.
A jury consisting of the presidents of marketing clubs in Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Salzburg, Carinthia, Styria, and Vienna selected Gerhard Fritsch for this lifetime achievement award. On the same occasion, Marketing Leader Awards in six other categories were issued.
