SPAR Australia is pleased to announce its sponsorship of World Wildlife Sanctuaries, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to conserve, protect and care for endangered and other wildlife and all forms of natural fauna and flora by providing sanctuaries and other safe havens

In an effort to raise public awareness of the plight of endangered, threatened or vulnerable species, the organisation’s founder, Peter Steele, intends to become the oldest person (at 81) to ever sail a yacht around the world alone, non-stop and unassisted. This huge feat, called SPAR’s Sail 4 Wildlife, will be sponsored by SPAR Australia.

SPAR Australia is extremely proud to be partnering with an organisation whose objectives are both so important and topical. This support is a clear demonstration of SPAR’s corporate social responsibility and its community and environmental values.

Donations to the organisation can be made at any SPAR, SPAR Express or 5 STAR branded store in Australia. Stores will also sell raffle tickets to raise funds for further activities, with the prize in each raffle being a $10,000 travel voucher. In addition, branded stores will also have the opportunity to become carbon neutral through this fantastic partnership as a result of the funds raised being used to plant trees for both food and habitat purposes, which will also be used to offset the carbon emissions of SPAR’s warehouse and stores.
