Since launching in October 2016, the conversion of company-owned stores has continued and new partnerships have been established with independent retailers to expand the brand’s reach. In 2018, SPAR Albania ended the year with 40 stores spread across the country, operating two of the SPAR formats: INTERSPAR Hypermarkets and SPAR Supermarkets. The addition of 10 new stores in the first half of this year sees this pattern of growth continue.
In addition to adding to its presence in the capital, Tirana, this year so far, SPAR Albania has opened new stores in eight other towns and cities, from Shkodra in the north to Korça in the southeast.
The new stores have been welcomed by locals, enthusiastic about the modern supermarkets, excellent products, and great customer service. A big draw is the SPAR Own Brand range of products, sourced locally, regionally and internationally, which allow SPAR Albania to differentiate its retail offering and encourage customer loyalty.
Customers have enthusiastically welcomed the ‘My SPAR’ rewards card, which is growing in popularity with an increasing number of households signing up as members.
This rapid rate of expansion is a big achievement for SPAR Albania and we are sure to see many more exciting developments as we enter the fourth quarter of 2019.
