INTERSPAR Austria is supporting the SOS Children's Villages’ Ukraine emergency aid programme with immediate effect through a donation of €10,000. SOS Children’s Villages is the world’s largest non-governmental organisation focused on supporting children without parental care and families at risk.

“Our sympathy goes out to the people in the affected regions. Families and children, in particular, are among those suffering. We want to offer immediate help in this emergency. We are grateful that we can provide fast and unbureaucratic support on the ground through our long-standing partner SOS Children’s Villages”, said Johannes Holzleitner, Managing Director at INTERSPAR Austria.

Long-standing charity partner of SOS Children’s Villages

INTERSPAR first partnered with SOS Children’s Villages Austria in 2004, supporting family care as well as children and adolescents living in SOS Children’s Villages families or residential groups. The hypermarket chain has donated over €1.6 million since 2004.

In addition to financial support, INTERSPAR helps raise awareness for people in need, especially children. Over the years, INTERSPAR has carried out various campaigns to raise funds and increase awareness for SOS Children’s Villages. These campaigns encouraged INTERSPAR customers to donate money in support of the charity. Year after year, painting and storytelling competitions, in aid of SOS Children’s Villages, generate enthusiasm among customers. Children can express their creativity and at the same time support children in need.
