The store’s opening was attended by Johannes De Vries, supervisory board member of SPAR Georgia operator Foodmart, who commented about the day’s importance for the brand. This latest SPAR store is Foodmart’s 500th store in Georgia.

The SPAR partner in Georgia is Foodmart, an existing food retailer with a solid and successful business. SPAR International granted the licence to operate the brand to SPAR Georgia in early 2014. Later that year, SPAR launched in the country, with three supermarkets opening on the same day in Tbilisi.
SPAR Georgia has focused on offering a good selection of fresh produce and traditional Georgian baked goods, complemented by a localised food-to-go proposal. The stores also include SPAR Own Brand ranges, baby food ranges, increased grocery lines, and non-food departments.
