SPAR Slovenia has opened a new hypermarket in the Drska area of the city Novo mesto, bringing its total number of SPAR stores to 107 nationwide. The new store has a retail sales area of 1,780m² and provides customers with a modern and pleasant shopping environment, high-quality and affordable products, and friendly service. On the opening day, SPAR Slovenia donated €3,000 to a local organisation chosen by customers.

SPAR Slovenia invested a total of €1.4 million in the new hypermarket. The store has a striking exterior with its glass façade and a modern, wood-panelled canopy. Near the main entrance is the fresh department offering excellent fresh produce.

In addition to the extensive fruit and vegetable department, there is a bread and pastry section with a self-service section as well as a delicatessen department, a butchery, and a fish counter.

Supporting local

SPAR Slovenia supports domestic producers and offers local products in a special wooden hayrack display. In the well-stocked SPAR TO GO section, customers find an extensive choice of to-go products.

Twenty-seven full-time SPAR employees ensure a high customer service and a pleasant shopping environment. In addition to the SPAR Hypermarket, the facility will also house a pharmacy, which opened at the end of March.

The new store features energy-saving LED lighting and an efficient and eco-friendly CO₂ refrigeration system. The store uses excess heat generated by the refrigeration system for heating in winter and cooling in summer. In addition, returnable packaging is collected in vending machines, supporting circular systems in SPAR stores in Slovenia.
