SPAR Netherlands is gearing up for the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam in the first week of July. SPAR is the principal sponsor of the Championships and in the build up to the event, it has partnered with the Johan Cruyff Foundation on a campaign that will offer young customers the chance to participate in a Cruyff Foundation Athletics Camp in their region.

Healthier lifestyle

“We want to promote a healthy lifestyle for our customers and their children,” said Susanne Kroon, Commercial Director of SPAR Netherlands. “Along with allowing children to take part in the Cruyff Foundation Athletics Camp, we are making a donation towards ‘Schoolplein14’. This is a project established by the Johan Cruyff Foundation that encourages children to do sport. Johan Cruyff believed that sport should be a school subject and strongly supported this initiative. Healthy eating also forms part of a healthy lifestyle and that’s also a subject on which we can provide information.”

Prizes

Between 19 May and 15 June 2016, SPAR customers who purchase selected promotion products, will receive a player’s card, which allows children aged 6-14, to stand the chance of participating in the Cruyff Foundation Athletics Camp in their region.

An active summer

Kroon: “Through our partnership with the Cruyff Foundation and our sponsorship of the European Athletics Championships, we are going to have an active and sporty summer. We are also going to work on other local activities to give customers that sporty feeling and get moving!”
