In recognition of the New Year, SPAR Georgia developed an unusual campaign to ring in the New Year, lighting up a Christmas tree when prizes were won by customers and one lucky store employee! The lights came on only after the prizes were announced, celebrating success and using a tree which is commonly linked symbol to SPAR.

Driven by social media, the campaign was announced ahead of time in a series of messages and was designed to add excitement during the busiest trading period of the year. There were three prizes to be won:

  • for the 500,000th shopper in the SPAR stores in the month of December!
  • for the lucky consumer purchasing a SPAR Own Brand product with a hidden prize from the incredible selection of own brand products sold instore
  • and for a long-serving sales employee working in Tbilisi!

The three lucky winners all received a voucher entitling them and their partner to a fantastic week-end over the Christmas break in January at a luxurious resort in Georgia! The all-expenses paid trip was not only a great surprise to the three lucky winners but also a super opportunity for social media fun and awareness! The prizes were announced instore creating a fantastic atmosphere and great fun for all!

As can be seen in the photographs, all three winners were absolutely amazed to be selected and to receive their gift! The creativity in this campaign has been widely applauded by shoppers and store staff, bringing additional fun and momentum to the busy trading period up to 1st January and creating a buzz in the first weeks of January.

The SPAR Brand continues to spread across the country in Georgia, with a combination of company owned and independently operated stores.
