In 2012, she became overall Italian champion, in 2014, European (individual and team) Paralympic fencing champion and in 2015, she was crowned world Paralympic fencing champion. Her next goal is to win a medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
The athlete suffered fulminant bacterial meningitis at the age of 11, which caused her to lose her feet and hands. Despite this, Bebe knows no barriers. Aside from her successful sports career, she also runs art4sport, a charity that she founded together with her parents in 2009. The charity promotes the social well being of children who have suffered amputations by involving them in sport. Bebe’s success doesn’t stop here however. Last year, she even published her first book “Mi hanno regalato un sogno” (I was given a dream) with major Italian publishing house, Rizzoli.
Unstoppable and enthusiastic, Bebe is a real force of nature. It is therefore not surprising that DeSPAR Nordest, the SPAR licence holder for North-East Italy, has chosen her to promote its eco-friendly own brand product line, Eco Rispetto.
Patrizia Caldart, Head of Marketing for Despar Nordest Private Label products, commented on the partnership: “With Eco Rispetto we are promoting the protection of our environment. Our company is committed to fostering a present and a future based on sustainability, innovation and the promotion of our local communities.
“We like this way of working, which allows us to tackle difficult situations and turn them into something positive – just as Beatrice Vio has done. We don’t just consider her our brand ambassador, we see her as a true role model.”
