Successful relaunch SPAR Klapmuts in Nieuwe Tonge

March 14, 2016 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

SPAR Klapmuts in Nieuwe Tonge has been successfully re-opened. After extensive renovation, the SPAR store, run by independent retailers Jan and Ina Klapmuts, meets the latest SPAR Netherlands standards and design requirements.

Jan and Ina Klapmuts are committed SPAR retailers, deeply rooted in their small community, which comprises 2,450 inhabitants. The store in Nieuwe Tonge, in the province of South Holland, was first opened in 1934 and was converted to SPAR in 2008. Despite strong competition in the area, the SPAR store attracts more than 2,500 customers per week.

SPAR Klapmuts is situated in a residential area and focuses on a strong convenience offer including an extensive Food-to-Go area and additional services like dry cleaning, shoe repairs, a cash dispenser and a food delivery service. A highlight of the store is the fresh market place offering fruit & vegetables, fresh meat and a wide range of cheese from the Netherlands and abroad. Customers are also able to enjoy a large Tapas offer. Fresh bread and pastries are delivered daily from the local SPAR bakery supplier, Dick Bunt, who supplies exclusively to SPAR stores.

A large number of neighbourhood format SPAR stores in the Netherlands have already been adapted to reflect this modern look and feel. The addition of this latest SPAR 3.0 store is not the only reason for SPAR Netherlands to celebrate: the store is also the 100th SPAR outlet equipped with Storeworld, a new store automation system from Centric. Storeworld offers retailers numerous advantages such as rapid checkout, clear customer information displayed onscreen, expiry date checks, online order support at the POS and more. To celebrate this milestone, all SPAR stores in the Netherlands were treated to a cake provided by SPAR Netherlands and Centric.
