Located on the main road connecting Spalding and the town of Bourne, the store will serve both the local community and commuters.
It features a new-concept DailyDeli hot food counter that converts from a serve-over style solution at breakfast to a self-serve, pick & mix style offer at lunchtime. Delicious meals from the counter will be available from 7 am to 6 pm, as well as chilled food to go, including sandwiches, baguettes and salads that have been freshly prepared onsite.
Customers looking for meal solutions can choose from A.F. Blakemore’s County Bridge fresh meat range and hundreds of products across fresh, chilled, and grocery categories.
Blakemore Retail Managing Director Matt Teague commented: “We are very excited to have opened this brand-new modern convenience store here in Spalding. I know that the local community will enjoy all of the services it has to offer.
“As the store is purpose-built, all features have been designed especially with the customer in mind and offer something for everyone.
“The site is a major investment for Blakemore Retail and part of our long-term commitment to growing our business profitably and sustainably for the benefit of colleagues, customers, and communities.”
To enhance the customer experience, two self-scan checkouts have been introduced to the store. A defibrillator has also been fitted to the exterior.
The store has created 20 full- and part-time jobs for the local community.

The UK became a SPAR member in 1956 when SPAR International granted the SPAR licence to a group of independent wholesalers. As a result, there are now five regional partners in the UK. A central office in London provides national marketing and buying services for the group.
SPAR has led the highly competitive convenience market in the UK for many years. Always innovative, the five regional partners continue to grow the brand. SPAR UK comprises independently owned licensed retailers and company-owned stores. These include forecourts, airports, train stations, city centres, and local neighbourhood stores.
