SPAR Netherlands expands SPAR Express store portfolio

October 9, 2018 IN THE CATEGORY: Store openings

SPAR Netherlands has enjoyed a staggering growth in store numbers and sales since partnering with forecourt operator, EG Group, to convert all 130 stores at Texaco forecourts in the country to the SPAR Express format. With the conversion plan well underway, the SPAR Brand has now been applied to the 75th forecourt store at a filling station in Broerdijk in the north of the country.

By growing in the forecourt retail sector, SPAR Netherlands is offering the best combination of convenient, neighbourhood retailing. The product assortment is  tailored at each individual site, taking into account the target customer group and the location of each store. The offering caters to both customers on the go as well as to the local community with stores closer to local neighbourhoods providing a broader range of items for everyday shopping needs.

SPAR Netherlands is well on track to reach the milestone of converting 130 forecourt stores to the SPAR Express format. The remaining 55 stores at Texaco forecourt locations will be rebranded in the coming months.
