SPAR Netherlands was awarded two prizes for its Own Brand range at the 2016 Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) International Salute to Excellence Awards ceremony.

The SPAR Extra Virgin Olive Oil as well as the SPAR Desparitos Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips both won first place in their respective categories.

Quality and innovation

This year, the international jury reviewed a total of 370 products in 48 categories. The prize is awarded to retailers as recognition of the quality and innovation of their Own Brand ranges.

On show at the Idea Supermarket

All award winners were exhibited during the PLMA tradeshow in the Idea Supermarket at the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre. The Idea Supermarket is an exhibition of the most striking, high profile own brand innovations from across the world. This year, the standard was exceptionally high – significantly higher than previous years.
