This is the result of a clear focus on the customer and an offering that we constantly adapt to their needs. At SPAR Slovenia, we are building a product range to suit all our customers’ needs and lifestyles. Alongside our strong own brand products, we expand our product selection every year and launch new items that reflect contemporary dietary and consumer trends. Our range extends from premium products developed in collaboration with Slovenia’s leading Michelin-starred chefs to high-quality ready-to-eat meals created in partnership with influencers. We want to offer customers a diverse range of products, quality and value all under one roof. We are proud that, in 2025, our customers continue to place a high level of trust in us and have once again recognised us as the most valued retailer in Slovenia,” said David Kovačič, Chief Executive Officer of SPAR Slovenia.
At the end of 2025, SPAR Slovenia operated 113 SPAR and INTERSPAR stores plus eight INTERSPAR restaurants, while 48 SPAR stores were owned and operated by independent retailers. During the year, SPAR Slovenia opened the SPAR Portorož supermarket, refurbished five SPAR stores and two INTERSPAR stores, and welcomed 19 independently owned SPAR stores to its network. SPAR Slovenia completed all new developments and refurbishments in line with modern sustainability standards and incorporated energy-efficient solutions throughout its stores. The retailer also strengthened its online offering by expanding SPAR Online delivery services to the Slovenian coast and opening a larger fulfilment centre to improve product availability and delivery efficiency.
A major milestone was the start of construction on a new 20,000m2 fresh produce warehouse, which will further enhance logistics capacity and support efficient store replenishment across the country. During the year, SPAR Slovenia also took over the management of its dry goods warehouse, integrating employees and logistics processes into its operations. The distribution centre successfully renewed its IFS Logistics, ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 certifications, underlining the company’s commitment to quality, food safety and energy management.
SPAR Slovenia once again received outstanding customer recognition in 2025. SPAR also achieved the strongest brand power among grocery retailers and the highest reputation in the sector.
The SPAR Plus loyalty programme remained one of the country’s leading loyalty schemes, with more than 1.3 million cardholders by year-end. The SPAR Plus mobile app also surpassed 640,000 registered users.
Own brand and exclusive products remained a key driver of growth in 2025. More than 2,000 SPAR Own Brand products were available and the retailer introduced a new range of SPAR Vital PURE dietary supplements. SPAR Slovenia expanded its premium offering through collaborations with three Slovenian Michelin-starred chefs, launching 16 new products under the SPAR Premium by Chef range. In addition, ten new products were developed for the SPAR TO GO range.
The tenth season of the “Start it up, Slovenia” project was successfully carried out in collaboration with eight entrepreneurial groups, leading to the introduction of 23 new products to the market.
