The SPAR store located in the Mammut shopping centre in Budapest has won the 2016 Store of the Year Award, ranking first in the "large-size supermarket" category. The jury consisted of FMCG and marketing professionals who assessed the store’s service standards, the functionality of the retail space, the implementation of environmentally conscious solutions, as well as the store aesthetics.

The SPAR Supermarket re-opened in August 2014, following a major reconstruction project. The renewed supermarket now has a modern look and feel with a retail selling space of almost 2,000m². It is a spacious and inviting environment, allowing customers to perform their large weekend and daily top-up shopping in comfort.

The reconstruction was carried out with the support of SPAR International and SPAR Austria, who assisted with the design and planning of the supermarket, helping to create a product-centred retail space that guides shoppers in a customer-friendly way. The modernised store operates with cutting-edge services and equipment, satisfying the latest energy-efficiency demands. A dedicated SPAR-to-Go restaurant can be found at the front of the supermarket, offering snacks and complete meals, either for dining in or taking-away.
