It’s been a busy summer for SPAR Partners in China with a string of store openings over the last few months, bringing the total number of stores in the country to over 350.

SPAR Shandong

In July, SPAR Shandong opened a fantastic SPAR Hypermarket in the Zhangqiu City Cultural Centre. The largest single urban construction project in the history of Zhangqiu District, the cultural centre is a truly landmark building. The opening marks further expansion for SPAR Shandong, which at present has nearly 20 stores in Jinan, providing shoppers with fresh, healthy and convenient services.

In August, the newest SPAR Hypermarket was opened, located in the Laizhou Wanjia Shopping Plaza. Covering over 6,000m² of sales space, this is a great shopping destination for high customer traffic. On entering the hypermarket, the customer is welcomed by an expansive fresh market. There is also an instore restaurant and an exquisitely designed wine department. The enthusiastic retail team make the shopping experience that much better, helping customers find what they need from eye-catching fresh produce and other daily grocery items, to sweets, snacks and baby care items.

SPAR Guangdong

July and August also saw new stores opened by SPAR Guangdong. A SPAR Hypermarket was opened in Changan Wand Plaza and covers 8,500m². It’s a comprehensive shopping destination for local customers, offering high-quality food and non-food items. The hypermarket also includes many smart applications, such as WiFI, self-help cashiers, and mobile shopping – keeping up with the ever-evolving retail technology trends in the country.

In August, three high end SPAR stores ranging in size from 200-400² and developed with a focus on offering convenience for shoppers were opened. The compact convenience store in Humen Town in Dongguan City has a complete assortment of fruit and vegetables, seafood, imported foods, drinks, ready-made meals, and kitchen & household supplies. The store has a simple design with soft atmospheric lighting.

The 280m² SPAR Gaochun Longwan store is located in Xilong Bay, the largest residential area in Gaochun. The store has been designed with high-end furnishings with hand-painted details and wooden shelving. This SPAR convenience store offers customers high-quality fresh seasonal fruits from all over the world and fresh vegetables from the local market.

Lastly, the first 400m² SPAR neighbourhood store in the city of Zhangmutou offers a comfortable shopping experience and is committed to becoming the favourite community fresh food supermarket for customers.

SPAR Beijing  

In Beijing, a 400m² SPAR Supermarket has opened in Zhangfang, close to the entrance of the Zhangfang Ancient War Defence site, a popular tourist attraction.

This newly opened store focuses on providing customers with an enjoyable shopping experience and features many products suitable for a healthy lifestyle. The instore fresh food department offers ‘to-go’ deli meals made with seasonal produce including seafood, meat and vegetables. Always focused on putting the customer first and providing convenience, the new SPAR Supermarket includes self-checkout counters and facial recognition payment solutions – helping customers save time and embracing technology solutions wherever possible.
