SPAR Austria invests €21.5 million in state-of-the-art INTERSPAR Hypermarket

Following a year of extensive renovation, the state-of-the-art INTERSPAR Hypermarket in Amstetten was recently re-opened, setting a new standard of grocery retail in the town in terms of product diversity, quality and innovation. More than €21.5 million was invested in the modernisation of the hypermarket and in addition to the existing 110 jobs, 20 new positions have been created.

INTERSPAR Amstetten now has a sales area of 3,500m2 and offers more than 50,000 products, making it a fantastic one-stop shopping destination for locals.

Architecturally speaking, the hypermarket is an eye-catching addition to Amstetten’s landscape, showcasing a curved roof and a beautiful open-air terrace, which extends from the INTERSPAR restaurant.

Resource-saving technologies have been implemented for the air conditioning, cooling and lighting systems, and as with all other new and renovated INTERSPAR Hypermarkets in Austria, space has been made for e-charging stations.

Instore offerings

The newly renovated INTERSPAR Amstetten better meets the needs of shoppers, offering an extensive Food-to-Go range, freshly baked breads and pastries from the instore bakery, a large selection of fruit & vegetables, a choice of trendy craft beer and ciders, over 400 vegetarian and vegan products, and an assortment of organic superfoods. Another highlight of the store is the delicatessen department, which offers around 370 products sourced from 22 local producers.

INTERSPAR online

INTERSPAR is well-known for its excellent customer service and to make life easier for shoppers, the hypermarket makes use of the INTERSPAR online service. Customers can order and reserve products online for home delivery or collection instore. They can also place their online orders at the INTERSPAR reception desk with the help of a store employee, who will ensure smooth delivery of the grocery items.

INTERSPAR restaurant

The new INTERSPAR restaurant with an extensive buffet, offers seating for 150 guests. It’s a great place to treat oneself to a cup of coffee, good breakfast or warm lunch. A large choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes have been added to the restaurant menu, making sure all needs are catered for.
