An incredible weekend of athletics saw Italy retain their European Athletics Team Champions crown, successfully defending their 2023 win. The event, one of the key athletics events in Europe this year, was proudly sponsored by SPAR.

On the back of their record-setting, medal table-topping performance at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships, which yielded 24 medals, including 11 golds, Italy is experiencing a truly golden era of athletics.

Italy was closely followed by Poland, which earned the country silver, while Germany secured third place on the medal podium, taking home the bronze medal.

The Netherlands placed fourth in the overall rankings, their highest ever position, with an incredible eight individual victories. Spain was placed sixth overall, having delivered some of the European Athletics Team Championships most significant moments, providing the home crowd with great memories of a hard-fought competition.
