SPAR Ireland supports Irish football with new sponsorship deal

SPAR Ireland has renewed its sponsorship of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) with a new deal valued at €1 million until 2021.

The partnership between SPAR Ireland and the FAI began in 2015, with the SPAR Partner designated as the official convenience store of the association. The sponsorship encompasses the Irish national football team and a primary schools programme, and sees SPAR Ireland support Irish football at grassroots level.

Commenting on the deal, Leo Crawford, Chief Executive of BWG, owners and operators of the SPAR Brand in Ireland, said: “As we enter the next chapter of Ireland’s footballing history, we are delighted to be teaming up with the FAI once more with a view to building the game further across the country.”

Mr. Crawford said it made “perfect sense” for SPAR Ireland to use its network of retailers across the country to “engage communities and help grow participation levels”.
