SPAR Slovenia collaborated with the Academy of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Ljubljana (UL ALUO) for the initiative. From the 26 submissions, four designs were selected, with three chosen jointly by SPAR Slovenia and UL ALUO. The fourth design was selected based on a customer vote on SPAR Slovenia’s website.
The winners were announced at an exhibition titled ‘SPAR ART: Green Seal Bags’ in Ljubljana’s Citypark shopping centre. The exhibition of artworks and the winning designs were displayed in front of the INTERSPAR Hypermarket until 10 July.
SPAR Slovenia’s CEO, David Kovačič, awarded the competition winners and praised the young artists’ creativity. “The competition aims at promoting sustainable awareness and responsible behaviour in daily life. The enthusiastic response from young artists reflects their awareness of the problem and their love for the planet.”
The winning designs will be printed on SPAR Slovenia’s sustainable cotton bags to be available in SPAR and INTERSPAR stores from autumn this year. Five lucky customers participating in the online voting will be rewarded by receiving a sustainable surprise package from SPAR Slovenia.
