SPAR Slovenia, in cooperation with the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste-Polje, once again helped primary school students from socially disadvantaged families by providing school bags filled with supplies before the start of the new school year.

The retailer has donated school supplies to this worthy cause for several years.

This year, SPAR Slovenia also responded to a request for additional aid during a nationwide campaign, providing 500 children with notebooks. This donation was part of a wider campaign that saw 500 children offered a summer vacation funded by donations from citizens and companies in Slovenia.

Collaborative approach

Well-known Slovenian radio presenter Miha Deželak raised awareness for Ljubljana Moste-Polje (ZPM Moste-Polje) during a charitable cycle ride. At the time of this year’s cycle ride, SPAR Slovenia was collaborating with the popular singer and model Rebeka Dremelj who joined the ride, focusing on the need for school supplies and increasing their annual donation for school children.

All supplies were handed over to ZPM Moste-Polje, with some children symbolically receiving a notebook during the charity cycle ride. In 2021, SPAR Slovenia donated school bags to 100 children.
