SPAR Malta opened their fifth store in the yacht marina town of Ta’ Xbiex, growing the brand presence on the island. With long opening hours from 7am till 10pm daily, local residents have welcomed this SPAR Supermarket’s product choice and convenience.

Situated on the ground floor of a newly built apartment block in a popular neighbourhood, the 350m² SPAR Supermarket services a wide customer base. Students from the local school and a nearby university plus people working in the business park also shop here. Customers enter the fresh produce section where high-quality, hand-selected, fruit and vegetables are displayed. The instore bakery ensures customers can select a warm croissant en route to work or delicious bread for the family.

Shoppers can also choose from a good selection of frozen products or fresh meat from the butchery counter. SPAR Malta offers a great choice of internationally sourced SPAR Own Brand products, including DESPAR Italia private labels. These complement the locally and regionally sourced items available, offering customers products for every shopping mission. The wide selection instore offers customers both choice and value for money in a pleasant shopping environment.

Customer service high on agenda

Customer service is a cornerstone of SPAR Malta’s operations which is appreciated by shoppers also of this store. Prior to, and during the opening, the store team benefited from the expertise of the store managers from SPAR Malta’s existing stores.

To reduce energy consumption, SPAR Malta invested in chillers and freezers with glass doors while the fresh produce chillers have pull-down shutters when the store is closed. LED lighting has been applied throughout. SPAR Better Choices nutrition education has been implemented in the fresh produce section.

Online retailing is supported through SPAR Malta’s online store which offers home delivery and a click & collect option.
