March 21, 2019 IN THE CATEGORY: Awards and prizes

SPAR India’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr Rajeev Krishnan, was honoured with the 2018-19 India’s Inspirational Leaders Award at the Global Indian Excellence Summit, held recently in London.

For someone who began his career as a sales floor employee at a department store in Pennsylvania, Rajeev has come a long way. A rich and varied three decades of experience in the global retail and consumer goods sectors and an impressive track record of delivering cutting edge results, have seen him hold senior leadership positions at major retail organisations before taking on his current role at SPAR India.

Innovation and differentiation built on the foundation of strong teams, great merchandising, technology, and leadership in omni-channel retailing, have been at the core of Rajeev’s career, making him not only an inspirational leader but a great team player too.

Rajeev and his team at SPAR India have embarked on a journey to deliver a distinctive retail experience for their customers with a focus on value, creativity, merchandising and innovation, to make the customer experience more engaging and exciting. Rajeev sums up SPAR’s mission when he says: “We want to connect emotionally with our customers every time they shop at our stores and make a difference to their lives.” This recognition is testimony of his enduring passion for success, his steadfast commitment to sustained growth, and his unwavering trust in his team.

Commenting on his award, Rajeev said: “Believe you can and you are halfway there. I continue to take the road less travelled and maybe that has been the difference in my journey – part destiny, part choice. Either way, it has been one of constant learning and amazing relationships.”

The award recognises business leaders who have had an impact in the industry through constant innovation and quality. Aimed at fostering business relationships between India and the United Kingdom, the Global Indian Excellence Summit celebrates India’s business leaders as a driver for economic growth. The event is organized by WCRCINT+, a global leader in awards and research with a vision of promoting Indian and Asian brands globally.
