SPAR in Spain reaches growing number of customers

SPAR Spain is reaching a growing number of customers by opening new stores and investing in the modernisation of existing outlets.

In the space of just two months, three new SPAR stores have opened, adding 1,800m² to the overall store estate. Thanks to the new openings, 40 jobs have been created, bringing much-needed employment opportunities to the market.

Investment by various licensed partners has resulted in stores opening in Mérida, Tossa del Mar and Gran Canaria. Based on the success of the SPAR Natural concept, the fourth SPAR Natural store was opened by SPAR Gran Canaria in Las Palmas, equipped with a conference and a training room.

SPAR in Spain operates a variety of retail solutions, each tailored to suit the local market, with a large percentage of fruit & vegetables, meat, fish and delicatessen items sourced from local producers. The product ranges instore are enhanced with an extensive own brand offering with leading FMCG products completing the assortment.

Continued investment is also going into existing stores, with four supermarkets recently modernised and refreshed in the cities of Calonge, Campdevànol, Tarragona and Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), improving the space available for daily essentials and key departments like Bakery, Butchery, and Delicatessen.
