July 28, 2021 IN THE CATEGORY: Awards and prizes

Store Insider Magazine has recognised SPAR Hungary’s INTERSPAR Dunaújváros as ‘Az év boltja’ (meaning store of the year) in the hypermarket category. At the same event, SPAR Hungary was also crowned in the Online category and ‘Fresh Meat Retailer of the Year’. In related news, SPAR won product innovation prizes at the ‘Inno d’Or’ competition 2021 for two of its own brand products from Trade Magazin.

Store Insider Magazine Awards

The Store Insider Magazine Awards recognise the best stores in the country selling food and other FMCG products based on a strict system of professional criteria and a public vote.

The jury criteria include a customer-focused approach, the quality of the product range, the variety and standard of services, and the store design – from an aesthetic and functional perspective.

Acclaimed professionals from commerce, manufacturing, communications, and marketing determined the nominees, joined by customers voting online through the magazine’s platform. SPAR Hungary was the winner in three categories: ‘Az év boltja’ becoming store of the year in the Hypermarket category, Online category, and ‘Fresh Meat Retailer of the Year’.

Trade Magazin: Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year 2021

Two SPAR Hungary own brand products have won the title ‘Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year 2021’, awarded by Trade magazin.

Based on the assessment of a professional panel, the SPAR Szafi free baguette and SPAR quick-frozen, peeled, and diced avocado both won in the food category. The products met the jury’s high standards related to value, innovation, and quality.

The bakery product introduced last year stood out thanks to its innovative packaging – a sewn protective paper bag. The ready-to-use avocado product is unique in the Hungarian retail market and also stood out thanks to its innovative packaging.

Awards and prizes

The awards are a testament to SPAR Hungary’s ongoing development and investments, as well as its commitment to high-quality trade and sustainability.

“In our stores, we offer a range of products and services tailored to customer demands. These highly prestigious professional awards reaffirm our product offering and ethical business conduct. The awards confirm that we are on the right track by supporting domestic companies and implementing the principles of sustainability”, said Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.
