2022 is an important year for Slovenia’s Basketball Association as the men’s basketball team will defend their European Champion’s title and play in the World Cup qualifiers.
“We are all extremely proud that SPAR Slovenia has been collaborating with the Basketball Association of Slovenia and the Slovenian national basketball teams for 21 years already, now entering the 22nd year. I want to thank Mr David Kovačič for his continued support, and I look forward to many common success stories”, said Matej Erjavec, President of KZS, at the signing of the contract.
David Kovačič said: “Basketball in Slovenia connects and inspires positive emotions. Therefore, the decision to extend the cooperation with KZS was easy. We share common values and believe in the development of domestic basketball. We will celebrate together again this year and believe in new victories.”
SPAR was also the title sponsor of the most recent Slovenian Cup competition, with 48 national clubs taking part. In the 21st SPAR Cup final on 18 February, Cedevita Olimpija prevailed over Helios Suns and won its first domestic Cup trophy since 2017.
