SPAR Denmark introduces Ikea order collection points at selected stores

February 27, 2020 IN THE CATEGORY: Digital and Marketing

SPAR Denmark has teamed up with Ikea to introduce a new service allowing customers to pick up online Ikea orders at SPAR stores across the country. Currently, the service has been rolled out to 20 SPAR Supermarkets.

Several SPAR stores in the country already offer click & collect services in collaboration with other organisations. Expanding this service offer to Ikea customers was a logical step.

“Our retailers are a meeting point for the local community, and therefore it makes sense to cooperate with Ikea on the delivery of goods”, said Richo Boss, CEO of SPAR Denmark.

“We already supply pharmacy products and packages, so why not also be the collection point for our local customers’ furniture?”

Customers can check in advance if Ikea supplies goods to their local SPAR store.

About SPAR Denmark

SPAR Denmark was founded in 1954 when Danish retail company, Dagrofa, was granted a licence to operate the brand in the market. In 2013, the NorgesGruppen purchase of 49% of the Dagrofa Group was approved. This led to a major restructuring of the retail business, with a focus placed on strengthening the SPAR Brand in Denmark.

SPAR Denmark has more than 130 supermarkets spread across the country, positioning itself as the largest independent retail chain in the market. Its headquarters are located in Ringsted.
