SPAR Croatia expands local free-range and organic egg ranges

As part of the rich assortment of locally sourced products, organic eggs of local origin have this month become exclusively available in SPAR and INTERSPAR stores across Croatia. In April, SPAR Croatia began offering free-range eggs to customers in Pula, Porec, Umag, and Labin.

Using locally sourced eggs in their SPAR Own Brand products highlights the importance SPAR Croatia puts into encouraging the purchase of top-quality domestic products. A total of 40 million eggs are sold each year and this is the newest addition to the organic range, which totals over 800 different products available in SPAR and INTERSPAR stores. In Istria, the free-range eggs are sourced through a partnership with the agricultural cooperative Porporat from Porec.

SPAR Croatia offers the largest number of organic retail products sold in the country, spanning dairy products, bread, pastries, fresh fruits and vegetables, pasta, flour, dried fruits, cereals, beverages, spices, various teas, and espresso capsules.

About SPAR Croatia

The first SPAR store opened in Croatia in mid-2005, following the signing of the licence agreement between ASPIAG (Austrian SPAR International AG) and SPAR International in 2004.

As a member of the ASPIAG group, SPAR Croatia has access to a wide range of own brand products. Brand development has primarily taken place through SPAR Supermarkets and INTERSPAR Hypermarkets, both through the take-over of existing chains and the opening of new stores.
