Together, they achieved the ambitious goal of walking around the world. Each step contributed to representing the interests of about 600,000 people with diabetes in Austria.
The challenge not only benefits the ‘wir sind diabetes’ organisation but also promotes health among SPAR and UNIQA team members. “In our ‘SPAR Health Coach’ app, we encourage a healthy lifestyle through challenges related to exercise, nutrition, mental fitness, and prevention”, said Dr Renate Fellner-Färber, Head of SPAR Austria Health Management.
At SPAR Austria, employee health is a crucial part of the overall corporate strategy. Since 2011, SPAR has run a sustainable programme through the ‘Healthy at SPAR’ initiative, strengthening health awareness and supporting long-term healthy behaviour.
The company builds its health-oriented measures on four pillars: nutrition, exercise, mental fitness, and prevention. SPAR Austria has been repeatedly recognised with a national quality seal for its commitment to workplace health promotion.
