Safeguarding employee health is an important part of SPAR Austria’s corporate strategy. Under the initiative Healthy at SPAR, launched in 2011, SPAR Austria implements numerous activities to do with nutrition, exercise, relaxation and sickness prevention. One such undertaking is the free SPAR Health Coach App, which can now be used by customers as well as employees.

Doing more exercise, eating a balanced diet and cutting out smoking; we are all familiar with these good resolutions. Unfortunately, we often don’t follow through with them. The SPAR Health Coach App is designed to help one not lose sight of these goals. The free app is based on a holistic health approach with four pillars: diet, exercise, relaxation and sickness prevention.

New design and features in 2016

The app has been completely modernised and as well as being available to SPAR employees, is now also open to the public, free of charge. With its trendy design, user-friendly interface and automatic motion tracking, the app helps users stick to a healthy lifestyle plan. The numerous additional features like the built-in pedometer, and the various expert tips, make the SPAR Health Coach App a virtual personal sports and health coach, accompanying the user all day long.
