Available exclusively in SPAR, EUROSPAR and INTERSPAR stores, the biscuits are produced using purely organic ingredients, such as spelt flour and oatmeal, from the Mühlviertel region. The natural sweetness in the biscuits comes from dates, figs and dried apples.
NUSSYY is the newest member of the sugar reduction initiative launched by SPAR Austria earlier this year, which promotes the removal of excess sugar from products. “We are very pleased that an innovative company like NUSSYY supports our sugar reduction initiative and that as a retailer, we can offer our customers the first biscuits without added sugar in the country,” said SPAR Austria CEO, Dr. Gerhard Drexel.
In addition to having no added sugar, the biscuits are also made without palm oil: “Our traditional recipes meet modern nutritional trends,” said NUSSYY founder, Carina Pirngruber. “From the beginning, we have worked with no added sugar in all of our products and our new organic biscuits are also 100 percent pure, without any artificial ingredients.”
Conscious snacking
Not only are the NUSSYY biscuits a healthier snack choice, but when purchasing them, customers are also supporting the EAT.CARE.LOVE project of the Jane Goodall Institute – Austria, which promotes awareness of the responsible use of resources.
