Children that are of pre-school and primary school-going age require a balanced diet that provides a variety of nutrients. Children need nutrients that are important for brain development and function. They also need nutrients to help develop and maintain muscles and bones, such as protein, calcium, magnesium, potassium and Vitamin D. They need nutrients that help improve their immune systems such as zinc, iron, selenium and Vitamin C and A.
