SPAR Slovenia has opened a supermarket in the new state-of-the-art Zalog Shopping Centre in Ljubljana. The shopping centre was generated through a public-private partnership, is 5,866m2 in size and offers 115 parking spaces. The SPAR Supermarket covers 1,157m2 and employs 26 people.

A special feature of the new store is its energy-efficient LED lighting system, which uses waste heat from refrigeration appliances to heat and cool the store. Attention was placed on implementing natural materials and colours into the store design to put a focus on the large choice of fruit and vegetables, especially those from local Slovenian producers.

In addition to the fresh fruit and veg, customers are offered a large variety of breads, pastries, meats and fish. Another highlight of the store is the SPAR-to-Go department, offering customers a number of ready-made meals.

The Zalog Shopping Centre is the result of a public-private partnership between the Municipality of Ljubljana and SPAR Slovenia. It is an important addition to Ljubljana, providing local residents with a pleasant, modern shopping environment. The centre also includes two halls, one for sports and recreational activities and the other for music events and other cultural gatherings.
