SPAR’s three-day Connected Retail Conference & one-day SPAR Business Briefing will begin tomorrow 8 November with over 130 participants from more than 35 SPAR country organisations and over 100 supplier partners worldwide coming together in the spirit of SPAR Better Together.

The two events reflect the importance of connecting with our customers in modern retail through our store proposition, our product ranges, and store operation, with the opportunities new digital technology is enabling.

The Conference will be held from 8 – 10 November at The World Trade Centre in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Themed the “SPAR Brand in a digitally connected world”, the 2022 Connected Retail Conference will cover how the different business areas of Marketing, Supply Chain, Retail IT, Retail Design, and Digital Commerce are connected and how the strategies we implement must aim to deliver the best shopper experience.

The programme begins on Tuesday at 12:00 pm together with the SPAR Business Briefing session. The Conference will continue throughout Wednesday 9 November and concludes in the early afternoon on Thursday 10 November. On Tuesday, the sessions will focus on sharing best practices and insights on ongoing projects and broader strategic initiatives. Wednesday’s sessions will be geared towards customer engagement, the digitisation of retail and the digitisation of the supply chain. During that day, delegates participating in the supply chain workstream will visit SPAR Netherlands semi-automated Distribution Centre in Waalwijk. Participants of the other two workstreams will visit SPAR Supermarkets in and around the city of Rotterdam.

On Thursday, sessions are dedicated to covering data insights, the SMART store and e-commerce fulfillment. Having colleagues dedicated to these aspects of SPAR’s retail and wholesale network together at the Connected Retail Conference will facilitate the continued sharing of best practices throughout the world of SPAR as we head into the new year.
