The run painted St. Michael’s Presentation School in a vibrant rainbow of colours, with over 1,200 participants, including families, friends, and local communities. The SPAR Rainbow Run 2024 raised over USD$17,000 for Childline Zimbabwe and the ZNSPCA.
The event kicked off with a lively Zumba session led by the Work It Ladies, followed by a 2.1km cross-country run or walk. The atmosphere was electric as participants were showered with 700kg of colourful, food-safe powder. This created a stunning visual spectacle as they crossed the starting line.
Local musicians provided entertainment throughout the day, along with a thrilling tug-of-war competition, celebrity dunk tank and several supplier demos.
SPAR Zimbabwe remains committed to fostering community engagement and supporting charitable causes. The proceeds raised at the SPAR Rainbow Run 2024 will be split evenly between Childline Zimbabwe and the ZNSPCA. Both charities play vital roles in protecting and supporting children and animals in Zimbabwe. The funds raised will help these organisations continue their vital work.
Shamiso Pfumayaramba, SPAR Zimbabwe’s Responsible Retailing Manager, expressed gratitude for the event’s success and the continued support from sponsors, families, and the community, “This annual community event symbolises hope for the important work of these charities.”
